Craig's Prevention and Disability Awareness Program
Craig's Prevention and Disability Awareness Program
Since 1979, Craig Hospital has provided a Prevention and Disability
Awareness Program that educates students and community members
on disability awareness, and risk-taking behaviors and safety,
including the importance of wearing safety belts and helmets,
and not drinking and driving.
These are our goals:
- to promote the use of safety belts and helmets
- to provide injury-prevention information on how to avoid spinal
cord and brain injury
- to educate children on how to be safe and make wise choices
- to inform and educate the public on disability awareness
In 2006, Craig graduates gave prevention presentations to 3,225 students in 43 public schools.
